Five questions for Carsten Ruder

Which areas do you mainly work in?

My activities include tax and legal consulting, with a particular focus on sales tax consulting, international tax law and founding companies and succession advice. I also focus on the topic of outsourcing.

What problems do you solve for your clients?

I assist my clients in setting up and restructuring companies as well as providing structuring consulting in the area of sales tax and international tax law. Furthermore, I create tax-optimised succession models from civil as well as tax legal standpoints. In addition, I assist my clients in the area of external tax audits, as well as in outsourcing business processes.

What has been your career path?

After studying law at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg and the University of Lausanne, I completed my legal traineeship in Bamberg and Capetown. I started my professional activities at HLB Linn Goppold as a lawyer and tax consultancy assistant in 2001. I was formally qualified as a tax consultant in 2005. In addition, I completed my qualifications as a specialist in tax law and as a specialist in commercial and corporate law. I've been a partner at HLB Linn Goppold since 2013. I now serve as a contact for HLB Linn Goppold within the HLB network.

What motivates you in your everyday work?

I’m particularly motivated by my clients, not only in terms of highlighting legal and tax law issues, but also collaborating actively and results-oriented on finding a solution. Making a client happy by contributing added value is especially rewarding for me in my work.
