Five questions for Bernhard Fleischmann

Which areas do you mainly work in?

My focus is in consulting with and auditing owner-managed, medium-sized companies, especially in the brewery and beverage industry as well as the construction, property and motor industries.

In the area of founding, transactions and successions, I consult in investing in or selling a company or property, as well as asset transfers to the next generation. This includes in particular structuring, due-diligence services and valuations of companies, property or other assets.

In the area of accounting and auditing, I provide support for annual reports and consolidated financial statements, structuring and auditing internal control systems and compliance management systems and IT-supported bookkeeping systems. Also, the organisation of outsourcing (of parts) of bookkeeping as well as consulting in questions of accounting and financial statements as per HGB and IFRS are part of my areas of activity.

In the context of business consulting, I support the creation and verification of business plans, planning and forecast calculations as well as the structuring and implementation of key figure analyses in the context of effective corporate controlling.

In addition, I am responsible for our breweries skills team.

What problems do you solve for your clients?

We support our dynamic, medium-sized clients to gain an overview of ever-more complex legal requirements. This allows them to focus on their core business, with the assurance that experts are focusing on the structure and compliance with all framework conditions.

What makes Linn Goppold special?

We have personal contacts who have an overall view of each client's situation, but also experts who bring profound technical knowledge in their respective specialist fields. This allows us to provide custom, optimised, customer-oriented support – with our HLB network and, if needed, also on a global basis.

What has been your career path?

Assisting owner-managed companies, also with an international orientation, has always been a focus of my professional activities. After starting out in business as an auditing and tax assistant at a medium-sized Munich law firm, I completed the tax consultant exam in 1999 and the auditing exam in 2000. After that, I spent some enjoyable years as a partner in a top-10 auditing company in Germany and with a fast-growing international network. In April 2016, we joined forces as a team of experts in the area of auditing and taxes with the Linn Goppold group, to concentrate more on holistic support for our medium-sized customers. My industry focus is in breweries and the beverage industry, as well as the property, construction and aviation/automotive sectors.

What motivates you in your everyday work?

Addressing again and again decision-relevant topics for our clients, thereby supporting and assisting in their growth path. So this remains an exciting learning process.
