Five questions for Nicole Winter
Which areas do you mainly work in?
I mainly work in auditing, consulting in the context of audit services and tax consulting, with a special focus on supporting owner-managed, small to midsize companies.
Aside from typical auditing and tax consulting, I assist our clients with company takeovers, company sales and succession planning. My services in this context include, for example, due diligence assessments, company valuations and restructuring support.
Providing advice on accounting and recognition matters under the German Commercial Code and IFRS is a major element of my work. I also prepare annual financial statements and tax returns.
What problems do you solve for your clients?
I help my clients with overcoming tax and legal challenges efficiently and successfully – both in day-to-day business and in the course of complex projects. In a dynamic environment defined by constantly changing laws and jurisprudence as well as digitalisation, I advise companies and help them maintain a good overview.
We jointly develop practical solutions that not only ensure legal certainty, but are also sustainable and economically sensible.
What makes Linn Goppold special?
What I value most at Linn Goppold is the unique mix of challenging tasks and the opportunity to develop tailor-made solutions especially for small to midsize enterprises.
We are a midsize business working for SMEs and that is reflected in our daily work. Thanks to the international HLB network, we are also well positioned to provide our clients with comprehensive support for cross-border matters from one source.
Thus we combine the strengths of SME-oriented tax consultants with the advantages of an international auditing and consulting firm.
Our hands-on mentality means that we focus on solutions, not problems. We put our client first – with personal communication and by never making them feel like just a number.
What has been your career path?
After graduating from secondary school, I trained as an assistant tax consultant. I then obtained my Bachelor and Master’s degree in information-oriented business administration at Augsburg University. During the entire course of my studies, I gained valuable practical experience at a midsize tax consulting and auditing firm.
After finishing my studies, I worked for a large law firm specialising in tax law and successfully completed the tax consultant examination.
I have now been with Linn Goppold since 2022 and am currently preparing for the public accountant examination.
What motivates you in your everyday work?
My daily motivation is to create genuine added value for our clients by not only identifying problems but actively working on practical, future-oriented solutions. The ongoing new challenges in tax law and direct exchanges with our clients inspire me. They give me the opportunity to understand their individual goals and to actively support them on the way to success. This close contact based on trust and the chance to produce tangible results motivate me again every day.
