Five questions for Reinhard Vogl

Which areas do you mainly work in?

My main tasks are the audit of annual and consolidated financial statements as well as the audit of IT systems.
In addition, I deal with audits accompanying projects, e.g. in the further development of existing IT systems, in questions regarding the digitalization of processes or cybersecurity, as well as ICS audits and data analyses. 

What problems do you solve for your clients?

Thanks to many years of experience, I am able to implement the requirements arising from statutory mandatory audits or voluntary audits in a client-specific manner and to design the audit in a highly targeted manner. In addition, I try to use my broad, cross-industry knowledge to provide indications of vulnerabilities and potential for improvement, thus providing added value for the clients I serve.
The requirements arising from digitalization and the interconnection of IT systems are essential issues for me when advising clients. In project-accompanying audits, I see myself as a contact person for the project participants for answering specific questions and as an advisor who can provide impulses and ideas for the further development of the respective project from a more abstract perspective.

What has been your career path?

After studying business administration at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, I have been working in the field of auditing and consulting since 1991. In addition to working for various medium-sized auditing companies, I have in the meantime spent almost 10 years as a commercial manager for IT service providers and in financial services.
In my professional experience so far, I have been able to serve clients of different sizes, structures, and from a wide range of industries. 
My Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification reflects my involvement with IT issues as a major topic of my work. 

What motivates you in your everyday work?

For the success of an audit or project work, the trusting cooperation and the confirmation by the clients and colleagues is very important. A functioning team with a good working atmosphere and collegial cooperation is a very high motivation for me.
